Moab UT is a really cool town and less developed than we'd expected given its growing popularity as a mountain-biking mecca.  We stayed the first night at Kokopelli Lodge and the next two nights at Pack Creek Ranch at the base of the La Sal Mountains.  In addition to hiking Arches, also used some time to kick back and do wash, provision for gear and trail food, postcards and a little treat for our new home to remind us of our trip. 

The mule deer came out every sunset and sunrise to chomp down.  These guys are about 10' from our little porch.  Dave was fascinated by the farm animals - he got to meet the horses, herd the mule deer and turkeys, and dive for cover when the bats came out!

On the way into Moab - looks like a slickrock snowman!

Delicate Arch - one of the most famous in the park.  Arches has more formations than anywhere else in the world - thousands of them!  Alli is doing an "A" for arch :)

Landscape Arch - the widest in the world, it's about 300' across.  The top right side of the arch is very thin because a huge chunk of rock fell off about 8 yrs ago.

Double-O Arch - you can barely see Alli just outside the shadow in the lower arch to give you a sense of the size.

We got a chance to crawl around in some formations in the Fiery Furnace.  A tight fit in this arch!

You can guess the name of this one - Skull Arch!

After this 11mi day in 95 degree F heat, we got Alli her own Camelback so we could carry more water!
