The history of the B.O.B. tradition...

So it all started in Coronado...we were living in the smallest place we'd ever lived and decided to throw the biggest Thanksgiving bash we'd ever done!  Ok, it was our FIRST Thanksgiving bash, too!  And it was SO fun...family and friends came in from 7 states!  This one was going to be Bird on the BBQ, but the bird was too big for the barbie, so it became Bird in the Backyard!  Turkey and trimmings for 11 in a 500sf home!  yeah!!!  It was cozy and fun!

It was 2004 (still in Coronado) when Alli convinced Dave it would be feasible to do Bird on the Beach (aka B.O.B.2) and voilá - an annual tradition was born!  We deep-fried turkey on the beach at North Island Naval Air Station for 20+ family and friends!  Click here for 9 pages of Bird on the Beach pictures!!!!!!

This year we hosted B.A.R.F. - Bird at the RainForest - Thanksgiving 2005!

   There are too many words
   to describe this year's bird!

   Lounge, lodge, lake,
   laughter and laziness...

   Family, ferns, forest,
   fish and feathers...

   Rainforest and rivers,
   Steelhead and salmon...

With prime rib, turkey and ham -
   it was eat-all-you-can...

   Then Hold'Em by the fire
   raised some ire!

  Thank you for joining us
   once again this Thanksgiving,
   we were so blessed!
